Good dropshipping products share one measurable quality: people are searching for them in rising numbers, and have been for more than one month. The twelve below are ranked by US monthly search volume from our database, measured in September 2026, with the growth figure next to each. The top one, squishy toys, is at 246,000 monthly searches, up 1,008% in a year. We also name twelve products the biggest lists still recommend whose demand has already collapsed, because that is the cheaper lesson.
Key takeaways:
- Every product here carries a number. US monthly search volume and growth as of September 2026, not a category name and a guess.
- The biggest riser is a toy. "Squishy toys" went from 22,200 monthly searches in April 2025 to 246,000 in September 2026. It is also the entry with the most compliance work attached, because toys for under-12s need third-party testing.
- A lot of the standard advice is stale. "Reusable press on nails" is down 95% in a year, "reusable shopping bag" down 89%, "interactive cat toys" down 75%. All three still appear on lists published in 2026.
- Growth over two years beats growth over one. Every product on this list rose over one year, over two years, and over the last quarter. That filter removes most single-spike winners.
- The $800 duty-free allowance is gone. Duty-free de minimis treatment was suspended for goods of all countries from August 29, 2025, which changes the landed cost of the AliExpress model every other guide recommends.
- Seasonality decides your window. Eight of the twelve are marked HIGH seasonality in our database, which makes them a three-month shop rather than a year-round one.
Let's get into it.
How we picked these, and why it is different
Open any of the pages ranking for this query and you get the same thing: ten or thirteen or a hundred and fifty ideas, grouped into categories like "pet supplies" and "home and kitchen", with no number attached to any of them. The largest of them says its list is curated based on search demand and then prints not a single search figure. The supplier sites that rank alongside it list whatever they happen to stock.
So we did the obvious thing instead and ranked by demand you can check.
The reason almost nobody does this is that the free tool everyone uses cannot do it. Google Trends returns an index scaled 0 to 100, which tells you a term's shape but not its size, and two charts from two searches cannot be compared. That is the problem Rising Trends exists to solve: it stores the absolute monthly US search count for every tracked term, plus growth over three months, one year and two years, which is what makes a ranking like this possible at all. The same data applied to Amazon listings, with price, rating and monthly sales per product, is on the trending products list.
Here is the filter we ran. A product qualified only if it grew over the past year, grew over the past two years, and did not fall over the last quarter. Three gates, all of which a one-month viral spike fails.

Note that the chart above ranks by growth, while the list below ranks by volume. A product can be the fastest grower and still be small, and you want to know both before you commit to inventory decisions or ad spend. If you want the longer argument for why direction matters more than size, our guide on how to identify market trends walks through it.

1. Squishy toys
At 246,000 monthly searches and up 1,008% in a year, this is the largest rising product in our entire e-commerce set. It is also the only one on the list that was flat for a year and then moved: 22,200 in April 2025, 135,000 by April 2026, 246,000 by September.

Two things to know before you get excited. The demand is real and the category keeps generating new breakout terms, which we covered in our piece on the sensory toy boom. But anything marketed to children under 13 carries testing obligations that a phone case does not, and we get to those below.
2. Hypochlorous acid spray
201,000 searches, up 122% in a year and 122% over two. A facial mist with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, bought for acne, redness and eczema. Light, small, high repeat purchase. The catch is that skincare claims attract scrutiny, so sell it as a mist and let the ingredient do the talking.
3. Candle warmer
135,000 searches, up 82% in a year and 123% over two. An electric lamp or plate that melts a candle without a flame. It sells on safety for homes with pets and children, and it photographs well, which matters more for this product than for anything else on the list. Seasonality is HIGH and the curve runs into the holidays: 60,500 in April 2026, 135,000 by September.
4. Eye patches
135,000 searches, up 123% in a year. The term covers both medical patches and the under-eye skincare kind, so read the intent before you buy inventory. The cleaner opportunity is the sub-term: "reusable eye patches", silicone or hydrogel instead of single use, sits at 6,600 searches, up 128% in a year and 247% over two. Smaller, but the buyer intent is unambiguous.
5. Wired earbuds
110,000 searches, up 122% in a year and 508% over two. The most counter-intuitive entry here. Wired audio is supposed to be dead, and the search data says the opposite: 33,100 in April 2026, 110,000 by September. Gamers want zero latency, and plenty of people are tired of charging things. Cheap, tiny, trivially shippable.
6. Titanium cookware
74,000 searches, up 512% in a year and 2,452% over two. This one is heavy and therefore a bad fit for cheap dropshipping, but it is on the list because the demand is unusually durable and the margin reflects the price point. It is also a word that replaced a different word, which we unpack in our breakdown of the titanium cookware trend. If kitchen is your vertical, the kitchen trends page has the rest of the category.
7. Minky blanket
49,500 searches, up 123% in a year and 234% over two. Soft microfiber polyester throws, bought as gifts. HIGH seasonality, rising into the autumn: 33,100 in April, 49,500 by September. Shipping weight is the thing to check before you commit.
8. Electric ratchet
27,100 searches, up 174% in a year. A cordless tool that spins socket heads in tight spaces. Unglamorous, which is the point: nobody writing a product listicle thinks of it, and the buyer is a mechanic or a home-garage owner with a specific job to do. Be honest about the shape of this one, though. It sat at 12,100 for most of two years and the move is recent: 18,100 in August 2026, 27,100 in September. The rising baseline over five years is what earns it a place, not the last two months.
9. Pet air purifier
22,200 searches, up 124% in a year and 124% over two. HEPA and carbon filtration sold specifically for dander and odour. It is a crowded appliance market with a narrow pitch, which is what makes the term work, and the climb is as steady as any on this list: 9,900 in September 2025, 14,800 in March 2026, 22,200 by September. The wider pet trends page shows how much of this category is flat by comparison.
10. Charging cords
14,800 searches, up 124% in a year and 174% over two. Flat at 6,600 for all of 2025, then a clean step up through spring 2026 that has held at 14,800 for five months. Cheap, tiny, and bought repeatedly by the same person, which is the closest thing to a free lunch in this business. The plateau is worth noting: it has stopped climbing, so treat it as a steady earner rather than a breakout.
11. Replacement lids
12,100 searches, up 1,581% in a year and 1,951% over two. Spare covers for tumblers, food containers and cookware. It is the least glamorous idea on this page and possibly the best one: the buyer has already lost a lid, knows exactly what they want, and is not comparison shopping. 4,400 searches in April 2026, 12,100 by September.
12. Rodent repellent pouches
12,100 searches, up 831% in a year and 2,421% over two. Peppermint and cedar sachets sold as a non-toxic alternative to poison, for garages, RVs and stored vehicles. Tiny, light, cheap to ship, and strongly seasonal in autumn. We wrote up the full curve in the rodent repellent pouches trend.
The products every list still recommends that are already falling
This is the part no other page on this query will show you. Here are six products that appear on current "best dropshipping products" lists, with what actually happened to their search demand.

And six more, with the gap between their peak month and now:
| Product | Peak monthly searches | September 2026 | Change from peak |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reusable shopping bag | 110,000 | 8,100 | -93% |
| Foot massager | 450,000 | 135,000 | -70% |
| LED face mask | 74,000 | 18,100 | -76% |
| Red light therapy at home | 60,500 | 18,100 | -70% |
| Portable blender | 49,500 | 9,900 | -80% |
| Scalp massagers | 90,500 | 40,500 | -55% |
None of these products is worthless. People still buy foot massagers. But a term that peaked two years ago means you are buying into a market where the early sellers already own the reviews, the ad accounts are expensive, and demand is shrinking under you. That is a hard way to start.
The reason these keep appearing is mechanical. Writers update last year's article, keep the entries, change the year in the title. Nobody checks the direction, because checking the direction requires absolute numbers over time, which the free tools do not give you. Rising Trends gives every term a three-month, one-year and two-year growth figure for exactly this check, and running it on your shortlist is the single highest-value thing you can do before spending money. Our guide to finding trending e-commerce products walks through the whole sequence.
What makes a good dropshipping product
Run these five checks in order. Most candidates fail at the second one.

1. Volume. Is anyone searching for it at all? Under roughly 5,000 US monthly searches you are relying entirely on paid social to create demand rather than capture it.
2. Direction. Rising for two years, not one spike month. This is where the LED face masks of the world fail.
3. Seasonality. Eight of our twelve are marked HIGH seasonality, which means the window is three or four months and your inventory plan has to match. A candle warmer in February is a different business from a candle warmer in October.
4. Landed cost. Price, weight and duty, together. Under $15 is hard to make work once duty applies, and over $150 the return rate starts to hurt. The classic rule of a product that costs under $20 and sells for three times that still holds, but the duty line has moved.
5. Rules. Toys, skincare, supplements and anything electrical carry obligations a tote bag does not. Check before you order, not after.
Price, weight and marketing potential are the criteria every other page lists, and they are correct as far as they go. The two they skip are checks 2 and 4, which is why their lists age badly.
The two rules that changed the dropshipping math
Here is the gap that matters most in 2026, and that none of the pages ranking for this query mention.
Duty-free de minimis is suspended. Every guide still tells you to source from AliExpress and ship direct. But as of 12:01 a.m. on August 29, 2025, goods of all countries lost duty-free de minimis eligibility, under the executive order "Suspending Duty-Free De Minimis Treatment for All Countries". CBP's own guidance to filers says the system now rejects Section 321 manifest filings and entry type 86 cargo releases, and that filers must submit a formal or informal entry and pay all applicable duties, taxes and fees. The $800 free pass that made direct-from-China dropshipping cheap is gone. That does not kill the model, but it does mean your landed cost calculation needs a duty line in it.
Children's products need certification. Our number one product is a toy, so this matters. The CPSC's toy safety guidance states that toys designed or intended primarily for children 12 and under must be third-party tested by a CPSC-accepted laboratory and certified in a Children's Product Certificate. The standard is the version of ASTM F963 incorporated by 16 CFR part 1250, with ASTM F963-23 effective for toys manufactured on or after April 20, 2024. Permanent tracking labels are required on both product and packaging. For products made overseas, that responsibility falls on the importer, which in a dropshipping arrangement can mean you.
One more worth knowing, because long shipping times are the defining feature of this model. Under the FTC's Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule, if you make no shipping promise you must have a reasonable basis for believing you can ship within 30 days. If you cannot, you have to offer the customer a choice between consenting to a delay and cancelling for a full refund, without being asked. Refunds for cash or third-party credit are due within seven working days, in money rather than store credit.
How to run this scan yourself
The list above is a snapshot of September 2026. If you want to run it monthly, which you should, there are two ways.
The manual route is the trending products list, which shows Amazon products with their price, rating, monthly sales and the growth of the underlying search term.

If you would rather have it in a spreadsheet every Monday, the Trends API returns the same scan in one request:
curl "https://www.risingtrends.co/api/v1/products?category=Pet%20Supplies&max_price=50&min_rating=4&sort=growth&timeframe=1y" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer rt_live_..."
Swap category for any of the fourteen product categories, set min_monthly_sales to filter out the long tail, and page through with the cursor. API access is included in the Pro plan, which is $19 a month or $97 a year as of October 2026 on the pricing page, along with 100 tracked trends and monthly search volume alerts on each of them.
For the free version of this method, our guide on how to find products to sell with Google Trends covers what you can get from the index alone, and trend forecasting covers how to read a curve before it peaks.
Common questions
What product is best for dropshipping?
By measured demand as of September 2026, squishy toys, at 246,000 US monthly searches and up 1,008% in a year. By ease of operation, replacement lids: tiny, cheap to ship, no size or colour variants to get wrong, no compliance burden, and up 1,581% in a year. "Best" depends on which of those two constraints binds for you.
What dropshipping item sells the most?
Search volume measures demand, not units sold, and anyone quoting you a units figure for a whole category is guessing. The largest product term in our rising set is squishy toys at 246,000 monthly searches. For unit sales rather than search interest, the trending products list shows average monthly sales per Amazon listing, which is the closer proxy.
Is $1,000 enough to start dropshipping?
It is enough to start, because you are not buying inventory up front. A realistic $1,000 goes to a store subscription, a domain, sample orders of two or three products, and a small test budget for ads. What it is not enough for is surviving a product that does not work, and most first products do not. Budget for the second attempt.
Can you make $10,000 a month dropshipping?
Some people do. At a 20% net margin, $10,000 a month of profit means $50,000 a month of revenue, which at a $35 average order value is roughly 1,400 orders a month, or 47 a day. That is a real business with real ad spend behind it, not a side project. Treat any page promising it in 90 days as marketing.
What is the most profitable thing to dropship?
Nobody can answer that from search data, and a page that claims to is making it up. Demand is the first filter, not the last. Margin depends on your supplier terms, your ad costs and your return rate, all of which are specific to you. What this list gives you is the first filter done properly.
What type of business is best for dropshipping?
A single-product or single-niche store beats a general store, for one unglamorous reason: your ad creative, your landing page and your email list all get sharper when they are about one thing. The same logic applies if you are selling your own designs, which we covered in our look at which print-on-demand niches are rising.
How often do these numbers change?
Monthly. Every figure in this guide is from September 2026, and the direction matters more than the level: a product at 50,000 searches and climbing is a better bet than one at 150,000 and falling. That is the whole argument of this page.
